Game Pillars

Unit Synergy
Summoning a diverse array of unique units and mastering their synergy is the cornerstone of the game's strategy. The ability to effectively combine different units to outmaneuver and overpower the enemy defines a player's success on the battlefield, offering many strategic combinations.

Upgrades and Builds
As the game progresses, players can enhance their units, spells and tower. Upgrading these elements is vital to adapting to tougher challenges, allowing players to boost their summons' strength and fortify their defenses. This provides flexibility for players to develop a playstyle that suits their strategic approach.

Resource Management
Efficient resource management is crucial, as it directly impacts a player's ability to summon units and upgrade their base. Balancing immediate needs with long-term strategy is key to maintaining an edge over increasingly difficult levels.

Game Flow

The game is structured into levels, beginning with level 0 (the tutorial). Every time players achieve a victory, they will then unlock the following level, until all levels are completed in which case the game will end.

Players also have the option to replay previous levels. This is due to the nature of the game's progression. There are several levels throughout the game which are designed as "soft barriers". These are levels intended to be harder and not be beaten on the first try. As players earn sludge (the main resource used to upgrade units) by defeating enemies, it is sometimes a viable strategy for them to backtrack and farm more sludge in the previous levels, should they be stuck at the latest one.

In general, the loop is kept simple to allow the users to navigate fast and get back into the action without needless delay.

Progression Design

Progression is carefully crafted to offer a linear increase in both difficulty and rewards, ensuring a challenging yet rewarding experience as players advance. Levels have been balanced by tracking key statistics, such as resources earned per wave and per level.

This data-driven approach allows precise control over the pace at which players progress through the game's upgrade system and levels, ensuring that the challenge escalates smoothly while keeping the gameplay engaging and satisfying. The balanced progression keeps players continuously invested as they unlock new upgrades and face increasingly harder levels.
